According to theists, we get our morals from a god. They say if it wasn’t for a god, we would be all running around killing and raping each other. I just dont see the connection. Its not as if believers actually look to the bible for moral decisions. If we followed the bible to a tee we would all be dead now. Sure there are a few moderately useful verses in bible but nothing so awe-inspiring that a mortal man couldn’t have written it. I in fact think that atheists tend to be more moral than theists.

In my entire life the person I admire the most is Pat Tillman. Tillman was a starting Safety for the Arizona Cardinals. After being drafted out of Arizona State in 1998, he played four seasons making a little over $500,000 a year. He was once offered a 5 year $9 million contract by the St. Louis Rams but turned it down because of his loyalty to the Cardinals. This alone should speak volumes about his character. People have to realize that there are millions of little boys and even grown men in this world that would have given anything to be in his shoes. Professional athlete. Millionaire. Literally everything a guy could ever want. He was slowly becoming one of the best at his position in the NFL and what does he decide to do? Quit football to go serve his country in the Army. Yep, he turned down a $3.6 million contract over 3 years to enlist in the Army. Can you honestly say you or anyone you know would give up their career to go to the Army, let alone a millionaire? Now what could have been his reasons? Could it be because he wanted attention? No. He declined all interviews and just went silently without all the media coverage. Did he do it because he thought it might be what a god wanted him to do? No. He was an atheist which to me makes this even more admirable. A lot of believers in god will do things because they feel their creator wants them to or because there will be a nice reward at the end. Tillman had absolutely no reason to enlist in the Army besides him just doing what he felt was right. He knew he wouldn’t have some reward at the end but that didn’t matter to him. Really think about how big of a sacrifice this was.

I promise you that if a study was done on the most discriminatory people in the world, the greater majority would be believers in a god. I can honestly say that I have never heard or seen an atheist discriminating against homosexuals or against gay marriage. Although I’m sure there are some, I’ve never seen an atheist have a big problem with interracial dating. You have religions that believe its perfectly fine to oppress women. Most people don’t realize that the KKK is actually a Christian organization. If there is a religion that doesn’t spread and promote hate I’m all for it but those are few and far between.

The two richest people in the World are Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. The two richest people in the world are atheists. They are the two biggest philanthropists in history. If atheist are so bad, why are they giving billions of dollars to charity? What reason do they have to give money besides out of the goodness of their heart? Again, this makes no sense. George Bush 1 says that atheists shouldn’t even be citizens. Comedian Steve Harvey says that if he talks to an atheist he just walks away. He also says that atheists are idiots. You have Catholic priests molesting little boys every other day. I could go on and on about how religion, especially Christianity and Islam, spread hate but I think they even realize how hypocritical they are. Isn’t it funny that the religions that harp so much on love are the ones that spread it the least?

Pulpit pimpin. Pretty good money scam.

There are a lot elaborate scams out there. You have hundreds of scams on television ranging from winning millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing to a pill that will make your penis larger. This is sad, but more importantly dangerous, because we as humans have a tendency to believe things simply because we want them to be true. The biggest scam going today is church. Just like any other scam, there are people involved in the scam that don’t even realize it. I will say though that some pastor’s hearts are in the right place. Every single pastor isn’t trying to deceive people but a lot, if not the majority, are in some shape, form, or fashion.

What prompted me to talk about this was me listening to the radio today. I heard a pastor clearly lying to his congregation about the historicity of Jesus. For those that don’t know, there were dozens of messiahs or saviors before Jesus with a similar, if not exact story. So he tells his church that there were other similar stories but the majority of them came after Jesus. He tries to downplay the number of gods worshiped before Jesus. Then he says the ones that came before Jesus have no good evidence. I said to myself “are you kidding”? So Jesus is supposed to have more hard evidence than any of the other gods? That’s absurd. Then he attempts to look at the evidence. You know what his evidence was? He looks in the Bible and says the freakin Bible says that there were over 500 witnesses. This literally made me laugh out loud. You mean to tell me the best evidence you have for your messiah existing is because your holy book says so lol? Say I tell you that Spiderman really exists and I can prove it to you. Then I proceed to pop in a dvd called Spiderman the movie. Then I say “see there he is right there!! Look at the hundreds of witnesses that saw him.” That is exactly what this guy did. The worst part though is that he knows this is fraudulent. He is aware of everything I just wrote but of course he can’t give that away because its part of his hustle.

Do you really think that all of these pastors actually believe what they are preaching on? Hell no they don’t. Just picture yourself being a pastor. You are making at the very least six figures and you are seen essentially as a king by your community. You are set for life. You mean to tell me that if for some reason you were to stop believing that stuff you would just give all of the money, community, and status up? Ummm no you wouldn’t. And don’t think for a minute that this doesn’t happen. Atheists are one of, if not, the fastest growing demographics in this country. Preaching is just like any other profession. You are trying to feed your family first and everything else is secondary.

For some reason people seem to view their pastor as some sort of mini-god or something. They think their pastor is above lying to put money in his or her pockets. They say “oh I know there are some pastors like that but my pastor would never do that”. What can a pastor do for you that you can’t do for yourself anyway? Does he have some type of inside track to what god is supposed to be saying? Does he have more prayer power than you? If god is such a big-time philanthropist, why would you even need to give “him” 10% of what you own? Its so obvious how this scam works if you just take a minute to really think about it. It goes a little something like this…. You can do anything you want because god will forgive you, just make sure you are here on Sunday to give me my 10%. The church is operated just like a gang. The gang leader sends his members out to recruit other members. The gang members don’t realize they are just being goons doing dirty work to make the leader even more money. They will never realize it because the leader picks them up and makes them feel so good, that it makes them want to go above and beyond for them. People in both situations want to have a better status. The more they do for the gang leader or pastor, the higher status they will have in their community/church/gang. The next time you see a name with pastor or reverend in front of it, don’t assume that this person won’t scam you for everything you own.

The word nigger is just stupid all the way around.

Nigger is probably the most controversial word in the history of the English language. When said by a white person it is supposed to be offensive and when said by a black person its supposed to be a word of endearment. I think both uses are unnecessary but especially when meant to be offensive. Black people decided some time ago to start referring to other black people as niggers to take the sting out of the word. This of course over time has become nigga. I think white and black people are just way too sensitive about this subject though.

I understand this is a racial slur but the whole nigger thing is just stupid. It is simply a word that was created to be offensive. ITS JUST A WORD THOUGH. ITS SIMPLY A WORD. WE ARE FREAKIN TALKING ABOUT A WORD. SIX LETTERS. If you give any credence to the word and act a fool, you are just doing exactly what they want you to do. People get offended if the word is just simply said, no matter the context. People will say that if a white person even utters the word, they are racist. No the hell they aren’t. My girlfriend is white. So if she walks out her front door, says the word nigger, and walks right back in and continues with her day, then she is automatically racist? This is just stupid and ignorant. I can’t tell you how stupid it is. Someone who is racist might use the word but really think about it. How can a person be labeled a racist by just saying one six letter word? People just harp on this racist stuff way too much. When people say dumb stuff like nigger or cracker, they should just be laughed at for being so stupid. If a person says something like “black people are always late”, they are somehow considered racist. No no no. This is in no way racist. And in a lot of cases I see its freakin true anyway. Shit, I’m late all the time. So is my sister and brother-in-law and countless black people I know. Why should it be cool for a black person to say it but not a white person? But back to the word nigger. People act like whenever the word is said, its like someone committing a violent crime or something. If I come up with the word poppywoppy right now and say it means a white person who isn’t smart. After this I spread it to my community and people start using it. Does it all of a sudden become a racist remark because I say it is? No. That would be ridiculous. It will only hold merit if people give credence to it.

This whole racist thing is just out of hand. Remember the whole Don Imus debacle? He was out of line for what he said but not because of why so many other people might think. He was out of line because he shouldn’t be talking about any women like that. He called the Rutgers “nappy headed hoes”. First of all people shouldn’t even take this guy seriously because his head is more nappy than just about anyone on television. But besides that, if Chris Rock would have said this, people would have been dying laughing. If they are nappy headed hoes, they are nappy headed hoes. If Chris Rock can say it, so can Don Imus. Either way it doesn’t make him racist. If anything it just makes him an idiot. Dog the Bounty Hunter had a similar incident but he actually said nigger when he was referring to his daughter-in-law who is black. Although he said the word, it still doesn’t mean he is racist. The way you can tell if someone is racist, is by their actions. Maybe Dog is racist but not because he called someone a nigger.

We need to stop this foolishness. Black people, if you feel the need to walking around calling yourself a nigga then do your thing. I think its stupid but to each his own. Probably no different than some chicks walking around being proud that they are a self-admitted bitch. When a white person says the word to be offensive though, just laugh at them and tell them how stupid they are. If you whoop their ass I can’t blame you but you would just b playing into their stereotype. Also, realize that when a white person says something you don’t like about a black person, it doesn’t automatically mean they are racist. Chances are they are just ignorant and or stupid as hell.

Every now and then a person comes along who has an immeasurable influence on our society. They literally touch every demographic possible. Tupac Shakur was so much more than a rapper. People who don’t know anything about him will say he was just a rapper who died. You couldn’t be farther from the truth. Rappers these days are nothing but rappers. Of course you have a few moguls like Diddy, Jay-Z, and 50 cent who have branched off into other avenues but thats not what I mean. Tupac was an activist and the person who was brave enough to say what no one else would. This is why 13 years after his death he is more beloved than ever. Its very ironic that I see Tupac in this light because as a kid I hated him. I was a huge Biggie Smalls fan, who was his rival for those who don’t know. It wasn’t until after his death that I started realizing that this wasn’t just another rap artist. I will never forget watching a MTV special on him when I was 12 years old. When it was over I just wanted to learn more about this guy. I was intrigued by what I saw. Within a couple of years I was the biggest Tupac fan and no longer had the same adoration for Biggie because I realized he was only a rapper and nothing more. Some people might have the same mindset I did as a kid so I’m here to show you what he was really about.

His lyrics are amazing. He was so diverse and could literally write about anything. I want you to name me another artist who could make a song telling struggling women in the ghetto to keep their head up, then a song about making love to a chick, a song completely about his appreciation for his mom, and then a song about whooping your ass. That is the definition of diversity. All rappers these days will make little jabs in their songs to leave people wondering who they are talking about but if Tupac had a problem with you he would call you out by name, leaving no doubts. I admire that about him. In Changes, which is probably my favorite song of his, he says “let’s change the way we eat, let’s change the way we live, and lets change the way we treat each other”. What other artist, let alone rapper, is advocating these things? None. And on top of that he was a great actor. Not a rapper playing in one of those horrible movies late night on BET. If you ever watch any of his movies, you will walk away thinking that he really was just like his character in real life.

Tupac’s mother was a member of the Black Panthers so he saw a lot of crazy things growing up. I can’t say what affect that had on his education but this guy was a genius. I’m sure many people think that being a rapper and unintelligence are synonymous. If thats your mindset, you couldn’t be more wrong about Tupac. I can honestly say that after watching his interviews and listening to his lyrics, he is one of the most intelligent people I have ever heard. Here is an interview when he was only 17 years old. When you watch this I want you think of teenagers you know now and knew when you were in high school. Were any of them this articulate, socially aware, and intelligent? He is talking about things that never even crossed my mind until I was well into my 20′s. I know if this was me at 17 I would have been saying “like” and “umm” between every other word.

Some people will point to some of his outburts and say he was a bad person. I will say that Tupac had a couple of questionable acts but who can say they haven’t. The greater majority of things done by Tupac were for the betterment of humanity. He was all about racial equility, helping women, and letting black males know that they can achieve anything. He was accused of rape and spent time in prison for it but I think anyone who looks at the facts can see that this was nothing more than a witchhunt to try and put a “gangsta rapper” behind bars. There was literally no evidence of him raping the chick. How many people, let alone celebrities, would get out of their car to stop a man from getting harassed? Hardly anyone would do that. We would just keep it moving and maybe call the cops. Not Tupac. He saw an innocent man getting harassed so he felt it was his duty to do something about it. These are the things that hardly anyone knows and no one talks about because they want to make him into something he wasn’t

The last thing I want to touch on is his legacy. People felt Tupac. They connected to Tupac. Listening to his music makes you feel like you have a big brother that will speak up for you. He was and still is the voice of so many people from so many different cultures. I think a lot of people realized what we lost when Tupac died. If he was alive today I and many people seriously doubt he would still be rapping. He would have moved on to bigger and better things outside of entertainment which he was starting to do before his untimely death. How many entertainers can you say have courses taught about them at Harvard University. Yes, they have courses on this “gangsta rapper” at Harvard, Cal-Berkeley, and the University of Washington. That is mind-boggling to me and should help people understand how important he was to a generation. I’ll leave you with a short video to show Tupac’s influence all across the world. Pay special attention to the guy and his son in Sandy, Utah. To me that speaks volumes to his lasting legacy.

Examples of how our judicial system is unjust towards black people.

One of the biggest problems I have in this country is how unjust our justice system is. As a black man it seems we have to walk on eggshells sometimes because we know what might be something minor if another race did it, will be seen as a huge deal if we do it. I know as a black man that if for some reason I was to hit a white chick my ass is probably getting a minimum 10 year sentence with no chance of parole. But let me hit a black chick. I will probably spend the night in jail and then I’m good to go. The injustice would be humorous if it wasn’t having such harsh affects on our society. I’m sure most people are familiar with the Jena Six. If you aren’t, they are a group of black kids who were charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER after beating a white kid up in a school yard fight. Now this story does have some racial background to it but that’s kind of irrelevant. When have you ever heard of some kids being charged with attempted murder for beating a kid up? Never. To make things worse, the kid who got beat up was in good enough shape to go to a school function later that night.

I know our society loves dogs. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is important to point out though, that black and white people view dogs a little different. Black people view dogs just as what they are, dogs. It seems that white people literally view dogs as humans. They treat them just like they are a child of theirs. Michael Vick was of course sent to prison for almost two years for dog fighting. Although I’m not the biggest dog lover in the world, I completely think dog fighting is wrong and sick. I’m sure where Michael Vick grew up this was excepted and he just didn’t realize how wrong it was. I would compare this to a kid growing up in the country and hunting all types of animals. This is just what he is used to so he doesn’t fully realize how much he is hurting them. I think its just something they get used to. With all of that said, Michael Vick didn’t deserve to go to prison for two years. Should he have been punished? Yes. This is just a case though in which the punishment doesn’t fit the crime. I for love of me don’t think if this was Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, or Dale Earnhardt Jr. they would have received this harsh of a sentence. I see this as a prime opportunity to make an example of and bring down a successful black man.

Ever heard of Genarlow Wilson? Well he is a black man who received a 10 year prison sentence for a 15 year old girl performing oral sex on him. Guess how old he was then is happened? Seventeen freakin years old!!! Not only did he receive a mandatory 10 years, he also had to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. How ridiculous is that? Wilson was a honor student and standout football player. He was well on his way to college and on the path of becoming a great citizen. He was doing nothing more than what the majority of kids around the world are doing at that age. Kids now are having oral sex in middle school. Does anyone in their right mind think that if a white honor student who had a soccer scholarship to James Madison would have done that same exact thing they would have received this same sentence? No. He wouldn’t have even been charged and if he was, probation would be the worst case scenario.

Orenthal James Simpson. Everyone remembers where they were when the verdict came down on October 3, 1995. I was a little Johnbeezy watching this in Mrs. King’s social studies class. It seemed all black people thought he was innocent and all white people thought he was guilty and should burn in hell. I honestly do not remember one black person saying they thought he was guilty. I thought he was innocent but of course I was just agreeing with what my parents thought just as every other 11 year old did. I now realize that guy is guilty as a mofo. I think most people realize that at the very least he had some involvement. With black people though, it wasn’t even about whether he actually was guilty or not. It was a underdog story. It was about the little guy finally winning. Its about winning one for the gipper. We have been discriminated against for so long that it just felt good for one of us to finally win one. From an outsider it might sound a little sick but its probably just one of those things that you wouldn’t understand unless you were in our shoes.

Hopefully our justice system will shape up but until then just try to understand where black people are coming from sometimes instead of claiming they are just playing the race card.

Snitchin….One of the most hated words in the black community. To a lot of black people, there is nothing more horrible in this world than snitchin. We need to stop. Just stop it. The rapper Cam’ron is the biggest idiot leading this charge. It has gotten to the point now that in certain areas snitchin can get you killed. You supposedly can’t help cops in any way, shape or fashion. People need to just stop and realize how silly this is.

Let me clarity my stance. I am not going to go to the cops for anything unless I have to. Although, I had a bad experience with a cop, I have learned as I got older that they are here to serve and protect us. Yes, there are crooked ones out there but there are crooked people in every profession. You can’t help that. If someone is doing drugs I could care less. If someone has stolen a car and it doesn’t affect me, although the act is wrong, I’m not going to say anything unless I personally know the victim. My rule is pretty much I don’t care what anyone does as long as they are not physically harming anyone else. People don’t understand that cops have to be aggressive sometimes because they have a family to come home to and they have to be safe rather than sorry. If I was a cop putting my life on the line everyday and I know I have a family to go home to, you’re going to be the one to go down instead of me. Now this doesn’t excuse all of the ridiculous beatings and wrong things that cops do. But those are few and far between.

These people who are hardcore anti-snitch are talking about not going to the cops for anything at all. Cam’ron was interviewed by Anderson Cooper and he said that if he had a serial killer living next door to him that he wouldn’t tell the cops. He would just move away. That statement officially makes Cam the dumbest person in history. I’ll have you know though that he is not alone in this thinking. I know most black people already know this but for other people who don’t, I’m not making this up or exaggerating. These people, mostly black, literally refuse to help cops under any circumstances. There are plenty of people who know the killer of Tupac Shakur but they cannot go to the cops for fear of death. This is just stupid. I understand people don’t want to be a tattle-tell but when it comes to people being hurt or possibly being hurt, you gotta go to the cops. Stop letting idiots in the black community dictate what is right and wrong.

The misconceptions of rap music.

Why is that rap music seems to get the blame for all the bad that our youth and young adults are doing? I myself happen to be a huge fan of rap although it has gotten less entertaining over the years. Rap, just like every other genre of music, is an art form. If you don’t like rap music because of the sound I can understand that. I for the love of me can’t bring myself to listen to country music. What I can’t agree with though is people making these guys out to be the most horrible people on Earth because of the lifestyle they supposedly live.

First, a lot of these guys aren’t living the lifestyle they are proclaiming. Do you really think these guys are out shooting and murdering people left and right like they are John Gotti or something.? Hell no!!! If they were, our prisons would be filled with rappers everywhere. Now Are they from the hood? Yeah some of them are but that doesn’t make you some type of renegade just because you grew up in a bad neighborhood. One of the funniest things I hear people say is “I’m from New York”. What the fuck is that supposed to mean lol? Like because you are born in New York, you automatically get elevated to official badass status? Anyway, back on topic. Do these guys do drugs and get high off their ass? I’m sure they do. But who doesn’t these days? People act like CEO’s of these fortune 500 companies are above getting stoned haha. Yeah freakin right!!! They are getting high as a kite just as much or more than people on the streets. Its just that when they get caught doing it they aren’t considered a “thug”.

So people say that these rappers or “gangsta rappers” are such a bad influence on society. I’m not going to say that rappers are going to encourage kids to go win the nobel peace prize but are they really doing as much harm as other media outlets? Is the violence they are speaking about any worse than the rated R movies your kids are watching? Is talking about hittin a chick off any worse than all of the sexual content you see on cable television every night? Why do you not see people protesting over these things and throwing hissie fits at the same rate they do over rap music? Well I’ll tell you why. Its because people can’t stand the fact that people who they think are “thugs” and a detriment to society making 10 times more money than them. What people fail to realize though is that these people aren’t a detriment to our society. What they do is entertainment. Just listen to a 50 cent song. He isn’t even taking himself serious. He is laughing at himself during most of his songs because he is just goofing off. People automatically assume that whenever a rapper says “bitch” or “hoe” he is degrading women. Not true but in some cases yeah if you are acting like a bitch or a hoe there is absolutely nothing wrong with being called out on it. You never hear women being called out when they are talking about busting out a man’s windows or, talking about a dude licking their neck, back, pussy, and crack, or how eeny weeny teeny weeny and shriveled a man’s dick is. People laugh at it and think it is hilarious. Well this is the same thing ladies. Laugh at it and keep it moving.

People don’t realize how much talent it takes to become a successful rapper. Now it has become a lot easier over the years to scheme your way into a record deal but its still hard. If you just listen to lyrics of some of these guys they are amazingly talented. They are not just spouting out a bunch of nonsense(well some are like Souljah Boy but not the greater majority). Rap music provides a lot of these guys with a way out of a bad situation. Many of them would either be dead or in prison. Whether you like rap music or not, we need to stop turning our noses up at these guys and realize that most of them are good human beings who are making a honest living doing something they enjoy.

The idea of ghosts seem very unlikely. Let's take a closer look.

I used to have a constant debate with myself about whether or not ghosts exist. I really don’t think they exist anymore but its funny because I will sometimes think about it when I’m by myself and I will get a little spooked out. One might ask why I would get spooked out if I don’t think they really exist. Well I would say its the same thing as Freddy Krueger. Everyone knows he doesn’t exist but if you were to watch Nightmare on Elm Street all alone in the dark you know you would get a little freaked out. Although I don’t think they exist, I am open to the idea just like I am with pretty much everything else life. The more I think about the idea of ghosts though, the more silly the idea sounds.

For ghosts to exist you must first make the assumption that you have some type of spirit or soul inside of you in the first place. Why in the hell would you think we have something like this in us. It makes no sense. Everything you do is controlled by your brain. But for arguments sake let’s say you do have some type of spirit or ghost inside of you. When does this spirit form? Does it form at the moment of conception? Does it form when you are born? Are there 1 day old ghosts wondering around this joint? Every time people hear or see a ghost, it seems to always be in an old ass house that has been around for years. Why don’t you ever hear or see ghosts in brand new houses? Do they just like to hangout in old ass houses or something? People automatically think that old houses are haunted and it plays on their psyche. You also have to consider that old houses are just that, old. The framework and everything in the house is old so there probably is a tendancy to have squeaky floors and all other types of problems.

All of us have appeared to see a specific object but when we took a closer look we realized it was not what we originally thought. Maybe you saw what you thought was a snake but it just turned out to be a really long stick. This is just a small example of how your brain can play tricks on you. Its not like the human brain is some sort of perfect machine that can never go awry. When people tell me they have seen a ghost I actually don’t think they are lying to me. I just think they have misinterpreted what they saw. And no that doesn’t mean you are coo coo for cocoa puffs. You always hear of ghosts doing weird shit too. Like they will start flickering the lights or they will pick up something and throw it on the floor. You mean to tell me that they have nothing better to do with their time? Come on now. Wouldn’t these spirits have something more constructive to do?

Furthermore do animals have ghosts too? If you believe in evolution how can you account for this? We obviously evolved from other animals so wouldn’t that mean they have spirits too? Or did we gain spirits the moment we “officially” became human. When people die, do they just negotiate terms with God and Satan and hope for a get out of heaven/hell free card? We know that everyone can’t have a ghost here on Earth because if we did this planet would be overcrowded with them. If you get to decide to live here on Earth instead of dying and going to an afterlife I want to know how to sign up. That would be da shit!!!

We have to learn that we can’t just jump to conclusions when something unexplained happens. Just because you see something in the sky that is unidentified doesn’t mean its martians. Just because your local newspaper claims to know what your love life will bring doesn’t mean your personality is determined by your birthday. And just because you see an object fall over doesn’t mean that there are beings wondering around finding ways to piss us off. In the famous words of Carl Sagan, “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”. Anecdotal evidence doesn’t cut it.

If you happen to truly believe that ghosts exist there is good news. There is a challenge sponsored by the James Randi Educational Foundation that will award 1 million dollars to anyone who can prove ghosts or anything paranormal exists. Randi is a former magician who specializes in debunking the paranormal. This is a legit challenge and the money has been set aside in an account for years. The way this economy is right now, this would be an awesome way to push right through. Here is the link!!http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html

A good amount of people still have a problem with interracial dating. I delve into why I think this is.

Why in 2009 do we still have so many people against interracial dating? This has undoubtedly gotten better over the years but there is still a long way to go. My generation is definitely embracing it more and more. It seems the generation that has the biggest problem with it are the baby boomers. My mother isn’t racist but she would prefer me not date outside my race. She used to have a much bigger problem with it but doesn’t really fight me much on it anymore. In her defense, I can’t say with 100% certainty that if I had grown up being segregated and discriminated against I wouldn’t feel similarly. But enough is enough.

There is a big difference though in why black and white people dislike interracial dating. Yes there are other races but I’ll focus on the two I have the most experience with. It seems when a white person has a problem with interracial dating, its because they feel they are better than the black people in general. As if they are too good to stoop to that level. Again I’m sure this is not in all cases but the greater majority from what I have seen. Now when a black person doesn’t date outside their race its not because they think they are better. Its more of them thinking they could never do that because of how our ancestors were treated by white people. Its probably more of a trust thing. I know some white and black people alike think its sorta nasty to date another race and if you do you are contaminated or something like that. All of this is just ignorant thinking on both sides.

As far as white people go, I think alot have this false stereotype of how all black people are. They think that every black person is unintelligent, ghetto, and wants to fight all the time. Now to be honest I can understand how a person can get this idea with the way we are portrayed in the media. And to be fair there is a good amount of us like that. The funny thing though is that there are a lot of white people the same way but it doesn’t get portrayed the same. A black person who does drugs is seen completely different than a white person that does them. When all you know of a race is violence and ghettoness, of course you’re going to be turned off. The fact that some white people are ignorant enough to actually think all or most blacks are like this is sad. All black people aren’t violent. All black people aren’t into sports. All black people don’t listen to 50 cent and T.I. All black people aren’t dumb. For the people white people who think this way, realize there are a lot of black people just as smart or smarter than you.

Black people view it as disrespect. They say “how could you ever want to touch someone who would do that to our ancestors”. A lot of black people say you can’t trust white people because of this. Newsflash IF YOU DON’T USE THE SAME JUDGEMENT WITH EVERYONE, YOU ARE STUPID!!! Here are a couple of ridiculous clips to show how little some black people trust white people. This was hundreds of years ago people. When a black women sees a black man with a white women they talk so much shit and it angers them. Correction…if the guy is good-looking they get upset. If the guy is busted they could care less which is hilarious to me. The excuses are “there are so few good black men out there and the white women are snatching all of them up” and “you are disrespecting your black sisters when you date outside your race”. Instead of saying how much black men are sellouts, why don’t you look and see why they are doing this. I know very few black men who refuse to date black women. It doesn’t work that way. Its just that the qualities men, specifically black men in this case, look for seem to be more prevalent in white women. When and if a black man finds those qualities in a black women they will date them 9 times out of 10. I promise you. Now of course there are a few idiots out there who will only date white women but I have just as much of a problem with that.

Anything outside of simply not being attracted to another race is not a good reason to not date outside your race. And I think you can count on one hand how many people can honestly say they have never seen people from another race that they weren’t attracted to. I understand a lot of people don’t do it for social reasons. They don’t want to deal with the stares. They don’t want to deal with what their family and friends will say. From my experience the more religious someone is, the less likely they are to date outside their race. Probably because religion tends to make people more close-minded. Once you get a basic grasp of evolution, you realize how closely related we really are. We just freaking happen to have different color skin. Why the hell would that stop you from dating someone. As time goes on, interracial dating will continue to become more accepted but we still have a ways to go.

I get mad too many times when I look at the state of my black race. This explains my anger.

Although I couldn’t be more proud to be a black man, I find myself scratching my head in disgust at a lot of what I see from my race. Some people will say I am a sellout or get on some Uncle Tom bullshit but no that’s not me. I’ll give a little background about myself. I grew up probably just like the average black kid. I love football and basketball, love rap music, and I love women just as much as the next man. I had to get all of that stuff out of the way because for some reason people think because I don’t believe in a god and I say certain things about my race that I must be weird or something. Well the truth is that I will criticize any demographic that I see doing silly stuff. It just so happens that I’m black so I’m going to be more critical of us.

The biggest gripe I have with us is this religion thing. I know there relatively aren’t many atheists compared to the major religions but the fact that I have only met one black atheist in my entire life is mind-boggling to me. I know it is embraced by our culture but at some point we have to get past this superstition. The worst part is that slavery of our ancestors is not only condoned in the bible but advocated by god. How ridiculous is that? Now I understand that religion was very important to our ancestors and it helped them cope with what was going on but that was hundreds of years ago. This does not at all make other races exempt from being criticized for believing this nonsense but it just seems ironic that the race that has suffered most because of biblical bullshit embraces it the most.

Another gripe I have is black chicks and dating. I myself don’t discriminate and love all women of every race. When a black chick hears anything close to the A word (atheist) they go running and screaming like they just heard a gunshot. They won’t even give you a chance. So many black women wonder why black men date outside their race and its because black women tend to be more close minded. That goes for religion, music, sports, and even the bedroom. I have told a couple of black chicks that I play soccer and they looked at me like I was nuts. And no these aren’t hoodrats I’m talking about. These are black chicks that have something going for them. Its like anything outside a black man believing in god, listening to rap/r&b music, loving sports, and being super masculine is absurd. Now although I fall into some of those categories, I’m so much more. I like 50 cent but also love Van Halen. I am freakin sick in football but I love dodgeball and volleyball too. We as black people need to open our minds and embrace diversity.

Let’s talk education now. Its sad that we don’t even embrace education and learning. I have to admit I fell into this trap in high school because I wanted to be cool. Our culture is all about having the freshest J’s on but not giving a fuck about what your report card looks like. This starts at home. Its like its cool to sound like an idiot on television. Its cool to say “you know what I’m saying” between every other word. Its cool to have your pants around your ankles like you just took a shit and have a white, black, or any color you like nightgown on over it. NO!!!! None of this shit is cool. It makes you look and sound ridiculous. That’s why we are sitting back getting dumber while every other race is passing right by us in education. When I see a black person who is doing something with their life and being a good citizen I am so elated because I see so many who aren’t.

I’m young so I like to go out every now and then. Nothing wrong with partying with the nice young tenders. But you probably won’t see me at an all black club because of how stupid we act sometimes. Its like other races want to just have a good time but we want to act a fool when we go out. Now an occasional bar fight is going to happen any and everywhere. But why does it seem at most black clubs someone has to start shooting or jump somebody all the time. Young Jeezy performed at a local club last year and I went. Everything is going great but it seems that people were like “hell nah, all night without something poppin off, not going to happen”. About 15 minutes before the club closes people start brawling and a dude pulls out his gun. Crazy. And its not like this is isolated. It happens more than you would think in my area.

What about these gangs? There are gangs in every race but why the hell are we the ones trying to kill each other. I don’t condone any gang if they are hurting innocent people but damn why are you going to kill your own? It does happen occasionally with other races but we seem to be killing each other like there is no tomorrow. For what? Because someone happens to be wearing a different color shirt. Is that not the dumbest thing ever?

This all boils down to education and close-mindedness. We can never expect to progress as a race. human or black, if we continue this nonsense. Am I a sellout? Hell no. I wouldn’t want to be any other race. But its time we open our eyes and realize this is only going to get worse if we don’t make some changes!! I want to reitterate that I am in no way talking about all black people. If none of this applies to you then obviously I wasn’t talking to you. Peace
